To make prepaid travel arrangements, call Aladdin Travel Agency at 1-800-874-7482. . Press 5 for next available agent. Please identify yourself as attending the Sloan Conference in November 2004. Your coach roundtrip airfare to Greensboro, NC will be directly billed to the Sloan conference without any charges to you.

If you choose to travel by car or train, expenses you incur will be reimbursed when you present documentation of the travel cost to the Conference Liaison. Reimbursable expenses include train fare, mileage at 37.5 cents per mile, shuttle/taxi transport from and to the airport. We cannot reimburse for rental cars.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

A block of rooms is reserved at the Grandover Resort and Conference Center Greensboro, NC for November 3-5, 2 004. Please call the Conference Center at (800)-427-6301 or (336) 294-1800 and ask for the “Sloan Conference 2004” group when making your reservations. These rooms will be billed directly to the conference. The hotel will require a valid credit card to hold reservations. Basic room rates are the only items prepaid. Each guest will pay for personal expenses, phone calls and all other charges beyond basic room charges. Fees for copier or business center services directly related to conference presentations are reimbursable.

What is the Zend Optimizer?

The Zend Optimizer is one of the most popular PHP plugins for performance-improvement, and has been available without charge, since the early days of PHP 4. It improves performance by scanning PHP's intermediate code and passing it through multiple Optimization Passes to replace inefficient code patterns with more efficient code blocks. The replaced code blocks perform exactly the same operations as the original code, only faster.

In addition to improving performance, the Zend Optimizer also enables PHP to transparently load files encoded by the Zend Guard.

The Zend Optimizer is a free product available for download from Zend Technologies. Zend Technologies also developed the PHP scripting engine, known as the Zend Engine.
